Strawberry Rockets - It's Close To Midnight
December… 1983. One empty drive-in. Four best friends. And a midnight MTV video premiere they’ll never forget.
Audrey Peterson and the rest of The Allurettes have the perfect night planned: pizza, Chex Mix, friends, and the midnight premiere of Michael Jackson’s video for Thriller. And what better place to watch than at Audrey’s family drive-in theater?
There’s just one problem. Strawberry Rockets is closed for the winter. The parking lot is empty. The woods beyond the screen are dark. And according to an old Shermer Falls legend, something buried nearby might not be resting as peacefully as it should.
Audrey doesn’t believe in zombies.
Marty hopes they’re real.
Shelby would rather not discuss it.
And Krista just wants everyone to stop being ridiculous.
But when strange figures begin wandering through the parking lot, the girls start to wonder whether the local bar released their drunks early—or whether zombies really do exist.
Set right smack-dab in the middle of the greatest decade ever, It’s Close To Midnight is a funny, spooky Strawberry Rockets story about friendship, music, urban legends, silly decisions, and four young women who probably should have watched Thriller behind a locked door.
Turn out the lights, grab the Chex Mix, and join The Allurettes for one very strange night at Strawberry Rockets Drive-In.
Strawberry Rockets - A Totally Gnarly, Majorly Bodacious, Epically Tubular, Road Trip!
In the summer of 1983, life is going pretty well for Audrey Peterson and her three best friends, Marty Robbins, Shelby Ashlyn, and Krista Flemming. Together they're The Allurettes, four young women with a steady weekly gig, big musical ambitions, and the kind of friendship that can survive almost anything.
When Audrey's father, Hank, reveals that Strawberry Rockets Drive-In Theater is in financial trouble, however, the girls realize they may be able to help save it. A rock-and-roll contest in Miami is offering a $25,000 grand prize—if The Allurettes can get there and win it.
So they pile into an unreliable van and head south from Maryland to Florida. Along the way, they encounter quirky strangers, old enemies, unexpected detours, and somehow wind up chaperoning two adorable pigs. What begins as a mission to save Strawberry Rockets soon becomes a road trip filled with mishaps, music, laughter, and moments that test—and strengthen—the friendship holding the four girls together.
Strawberry Rockets - A Christmas Story of Music, Miracles, and Mixtapes!
All Audrey wanted for Christmas '83 was a quiet vacation with her family and bandmates... and maybe a new sweater from Macy's. Instead, she finds herself in the middle of holiday chaos: gift disasters, loan sharks, a surprise newborn, nosy neighbors—the list keeps growing, and it's not Santa's.
Now, Audrey's juggling family drama, friendship blowups, and the pressure to make this Christmas one to remember—or at least survive. All while her band, The Allurettes, is rehearsing to back a pop legend on national TV!
Set against the neon glow of suburban malls, arcades, midnight drive-ins, and cassette-deck dreams, Strawberry Rockets: A Christmas Story of Music, Miracles, and Mixtapes is a nostalgic, heartwarming comedy about friendship, found family, growing up, and the music that gets us through it all.
It's Christmas 1983 with Audrey and The Allurettes—a little messy, a little magical, and a Christmas mixtape in novel form.
