Author Bio
Shawn Harrison is an independent author whose work explores memory, trauma, music, and identity through deeply human storytelling. His Willow Lake series blends literary horror with small-town secrets and supernatural mystery. At the same time, his Strawberry Rockets novel follows an all-girl rock band as they navigate work, friendship, and the beginnings of stardom. Future installments of this series will explore their family relationships and the hardships young women faced while breaking into the music industry during the early 80s.
Drawing on a lifelong love of the mid-to-late-20th-century culture, Shawn Harrison combines emotional realism, vivid character voice, strong dialogue, and cultural nostalgia, allowing the scares in his horror novels to hit harder and the bittersweet drama in his comedy novels to land just right on the heart. He recreates the music, fashion, and atmosphere of past decades with vivid authenticity and a tremendous amount of love. He writes original songs for his books and designs his own covers.
The fragile resilience of people facing their darkest fears and brightest dreams dwells in the core of each tale, strengthened by callback magic that links past with current, and memories to meaning. Whether writing the unsettling horrors of Willow Lake or the heartfelt comedy-dramas of Strawberry Rockets, he explores how memory shapes identity across genres.
Within his writing, you’ll find emotional truths of victims doing whatever it takes to reclaim their stolen voices. If you like horror that lingers well past midnight, strong female leads who stay with you long after the final page, or stories that feel like lost memories from past decades, you’re in the right place. Reading these books will cast you in the flickering glow of a VHS screen or under the saffron light of a streetlamp at midnight.
Shawn Harrison lives in Maryland with his wife, Nickcoleeta. Besides writing, he works as a contractor. In his spare time, he enjoys reading older novels from the 70s and 80s.
